In my attempt to really learn about the culture and history of Canada I think that I have to finally break down and read....yes.... Anne of Green Gables.
Anne of Green Gables is a wonderful series! However Anne of Green Gables will give you the culture of PEI, not all of Canada. Canadians are very much defined by not only being Canadians, but by *where* in Canada they live.
Actually, I have read a good deal of it today and have really been enjoying it. More than I thought I have to confess. I only just realized what a large series of books/movies/other that it has generated.
